Vertical machining center refers to the spindle for the vertical state of the processing center, the structure of the form is fixed column, the table is rectangular, no grading rotary function, suitable for processing disk, sleeve, plate parts, it generally has three linear motion coordinate axis, and can be installed on the workbench along the horizontal axis rotary table, used to process spiral parts.

Vertical machining center card convenient, easy to operate, easy to observe the processing, debugging program is easy, widely used. However, due to the height of the column and the limitation of the tool changing device, the parts can not be processed too high. When processing the cavity or concave surface, the chip is not easy to discharge, which will damage the tool and damage the processed surface and affect the smooth processing.

Horizontal machining center refers to the spindle for the horizontal state of the processing center, usually with automatic division of the rotary table, it generally has 3 ~ 5 motion coordinates, the common is three linear motion coordinates plus a rotary motion coordinates, the workpiece in a card, in addition to the installation surface and the top surface of the remaining four surface processing, it is most suitable for adding box parts. Compared with the vertical machining center, the horizontal machining center is easy to remove chips and favorable to processing, but the structure is complex and the price is higher.
